In 2023, LJ was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer. He has needed dozens of platelet transfusions during his life so far to help keep his blood clotting normally during treatment.
When LJ's parents learned that just 2,200 people give platelets in Ireland, they both started encouraging friends and family to join the team.
We always need new platelet donors joining the panel to make sure that life-saving platelets are available for people like LJ.
