World Blood Donor Day
Blood Donations Mean the World
Every year on 14th June, countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day. It's a day dedicated to expressing gratitude to voluntary blood donors for their life-saving contributions. The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will join the World Health Organisation and Blood Services around the world to celebrate blood donors.
This years theme - "Give blood, give hope: together we save lives" celebrates the power of community and solidarity in saving lives through the simple act of giving blood.
GO RED on World Blood Donor Day 2025
Across Ireland, iconic buildings and landmark sites are 'lighting up' red to show their appreciation and support for our generous blood donors.
Please join in and 'GO RED' on Saturday June 14th. If you're on social media - snap a selfie wearing red and share or simply wear red and recommend blood donation to your friends and family.
If you can’t give blood, you can still make an impact by spreading the word about the importance of giving blood.
Thank You ❤️
