World Blood Donor Day

Every year on 14th June, countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day. It's a day dedicated to expressing gratitude to voluntary blood donors for their life-saving contributions.

This year’s campaign, “One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives.”, places humanity at the heart of every blood donation. It reminds us that each donation is more than a medical act: it is a powerful expression of solidarity, compassion and collective responsibility.

GO RED on World Blood Donor Day 2026

Across Ireland, iconic buildings and landmark sites are 'lighting up' red to show their appreciation and support for our generous blood donors.

Please join in and 'GO RED' on Sunday June 14th. If you're on social media - snap a selfie wearing red and share or simply wear red and recommend blood donation to your friends and family.

If you can’t give blood, you can still make an impact by spreading the word about the importance of giving blood.

Thank You ❤️
