Accessibility Statement

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) follows guidelines on accessibility set out by the W3C (the World Wide Web Consortium). The W3C WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) produces accessibility guidelines (WCAG 1.0) that are an internationally recognised benchmark of accessibility.

In designing giveblood.ie, we have applied all appropriate WAI Priority 1 and Priority 2 criteria of the WAI's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 1.0). Our aim is to achieve WAI Level AA (Double A) compliance.

Known instance of non-compliance

In the "Where to Donate" section we use Google Maps to show the location and times of clinics. Google Maps, while intuitive and easy to use, is not compliant to the WAI guidelines. Please use the calendar function if you experience any difficulty using Google Maps on our website or contact us at 1800 731 137 to get information on the availability of clinics in your area.
